Skusenost z Praxe - pripojenie na DIAL-in cez SLIP protokol - na opacnom konci annex terminal server -ale moze byt lubovolny SLIP server ako router sluzil PC 486DX2/66 MHz B MB RAM s UART seriovym portom a ethernet kartou operacny system OS/2 3.0 WARP podpora TCP/IP for OS/2 2.1 z shareware WWW a gopher servrom FTP server sucastou balika TCP/IP ( da sa dokupit NFS - server aj X-terminal balik ) na seriovy port pripojeny modem ( > 14400 ) dany pocitac fungoval router a SMTP klient ( cize bolo mozne mu dorusit postu - ale iba na dany stroj ) Na danom pocitaci fungoval WWW gopher FTP a LPD server, existuje NFS a dokonca DNS resolver pre OS/2 , tie vask treba samostatne dokupit. Pre intenzivne vyuzivanie LPD servra a rovnako ASI aj (nemam skusenosti ) NFS servra by asi bolo vhodne mat viac RAM. Na ethernet boli pripojene dalsie pocitace s lubovolnym peer to peer podporujucim TCP/IP ( v konkretnom pripade winsock a nadstavby ) vsetky pocitace intenzivne prenasali data ( WWW, gopher klient , emulacie terminalov na vzdialenych uzloch ) vid obrazok: DNS, MX -------------------------- Ethernet terminal server | | | SLIP | | OS/2 - router - WWW-FTP-Gopher server (NFS server - neodskusane) ----------------------------------------------------------- Ethernet WS WS .......................... WS Vsetko zalezi od toho ako budu pripojeni na IP providera. AK leased line, tak potom vyhody jednoduchsej instalacie a konfiguracie OS/2 ustupuju pred moznostami Linuxu.
