Intruducing a new global information System:

                        Global Information System on
ConverNet the Conversion of Military Capacity
for Civilian Use and Sustainable Development

We, the Institute for Environmental Protection - University of Dortmund,
Germany, have established ConverNet - an international information system
in the service of conversion of military cpacity to civilian use and
sustainable development.
This Network provides information on different aspects of the
conversion issue to the "conversion community".
The work of the network inter alia focusses on the conversion process
in CIC states and other states in transition.
Thus I'm of the oppinion that participating in ConverNet may be interesting
for some of the subscribers.
The services of ConverNet are provided through the Internet Service Gopher.
To get an impression of the structure of the network you have to search
the gopher-server "convernet.infu.uni-dortmund.de, Port 70".
We have finished the technical implementation (nearly) completely and are now
trying to promote the network and to get access to interested researchers and
organizations.
If you are interested in this new service and if you want further information
do not hesitate to contact me directly.

created new opportunities western business and joint venture companies.

The venue of the meeting will be one of the proposed energy efficiency
demonstration zones at Ceska Lipa in the Czech Republic as an example
of a former military base. The meeting will conzentrate on solving the
problems of the conversion of former military capacities into civilian use

efficient facilities and financing opportunities.
