	Enclosed is a Call for Papers for a special issue of 1st SYMPOSIUM
ON ATM TECHNOLOGY USERS WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION - ATMTU'99. Please
feel free to distribute it to interested colleagues and post it as
appropriate. Also, please accept our sincere apologies if you receive

Dear Sirs,

	It is our pleasure to announce you that the 1st Symposium on ATM
Technology Users with international participation (ATMTU'99) will be held in
Košice, Slovakia on 17 - 19 February 1999. There are three promoting bodies
of the Symposium: Slovak Telecom, The ATM Association in Slovak Republic and
Technical University of Košice. The Symposium is organised by the company
elfa, s.r.o., Košice. 
	The Symposium will be devoted to exchange of experiences in
implementation and operation of the broad-band networks based on the ATM
technology, presentation of verified applications and presentation of the
offered services. It will promote the ATM technology transfer between the
producers and customers ? users of the ATM technology. In framework of the
Symposium we are preparing an exhibition of new products and components of
the ATM technology, applications, measurement equipment, etc. The exhibition
will be held in the same location as the Symposium. Companies and
institutions will have an opportunity to exhibit their products and
advertise them among the specialists and potential customers. Also, a
special session will be devoted to introducing their products and
applications (short lectures in duration of approx. 10-20 min.). 
	We would be pleased if you could present a lecture in the plenary
session concerning the topic that suits you and will be of great interest -
e.g. on necessity of building the high speed networks for creation of the
information "high way". 
	In the plenary session we expect a presentation of the ambassadors
of the ATM Forum and also presentation of a memeber of the European
Commission DG XIII, Mr. Paulo de Sousa.
	We kindly request your to perform promotional activities of the
Symposium on our behalf. Your specialists are heartily welcome among the
symposium participants. 
	We would be grateful for any your suggestions in order to increase
the credit of the Symposium.
