EUROTEL INTRODUCES SUPERSOUND USING THE EFR DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY

EuroTel Praha is one of the first mobile operators in the world to provide even better sound quality using the next generation of GSM technology.

The new technology, called SuperSound uses EFR (Enhanced Full Rate) advanced digital coding technology which transmits conversation more clearly. With EFR, voices sound more natural and are more easily recognized. Experts compare the difference between standard GSM and the new EFR to the difference between the sound of vinyl records and that of CD´s.

EuroTel is now the first and only mobile operator to provide SuperSound quality in the Czech Republic.

Attention - EuroTel provides SuperSound to all existing GSM customers free of charge! In some countries, such as Great Britain, the operators only offer EFR in conjunction with special tariffs or extra charges. EuroTel knows that all its customers should benefit from this leading edge technology.

EuroTel has already deployed SuperSound technology within its GSM network. However, to enjoy the benefits of this enhanced digital sound, customers must also use an EFR compatible mobile phone. Currently, EFR is supported by Nokia and Ericsson mobile phones (Nokia 6150, Nokia 8810, Nokia 5110, Nokia 6110, Ericsson GF 768, Ericsson GF 788e, Ericsson SH 888, Ericsson GA 628, and Ericsson GII 688). In addition, EuroTel plans to lauch four new EFR compatible phones by March of this year.
