EUROTEL APPOINTED ALEXANDER WINKLER
AS A DEPUTY MANAGING DIRECTOR |
Ing. Alexander Winkler has been appointed deputy managing director of EuroTel Praha, the
largest mobile phone operator in the Czech Republic.
Ing. Alexander Winkler (1951) studied Systems Engineering at the University of Mining in
Ostrava and attended a number of professional managerial courses abroad, mainly in the
United States, Great Britain, and Belgium. Between 1975 and 1990 he worked as head of
systems programing at OKD Ostrava and later, between 1990 and 1995, was sales director of
IBM Czech Republic. After 1996 he was managing director and vice chairman of the board of
directors in GiTy inc. He has published a number of articles and commentaries in various
specialized magazines.
In the past, he was chairman of the professional sports committee within the bodybuilding
association of the Czech Association for Physical Education. He devotes his spare time to
various sports (tennis, skiing, mountain biking...), travel and culture, and above all
classical and modern music.
"Alex´s rich czech telecommunication, and leadership experiences are a valuable
addition to our senior management team. Alex will have the full responsibility for our
corporate infrastructure. He fills a critical role in our senior management team. We will
be working together daily to develop an execute our overall corporate strategy,"
stated Ed Kingman, managing director of EuroTel Praha. "Alex joins our team as
EuroTel ´s number two executive."
