Another one of the interesting projects which are traditionally supported by EuroTel took place on 23 May. It is an event which is certainly well-known to the sportsmen who go in for running, as we are speaking about Prague International Marathon '99. The classic marathon (42.195 km) was started from the Old Town Square on Sunday 23 May. There were still other running races which took place on the same day: the EuroTel City Race (length 9 km) and the Family Race (length 4.5 km). The Junior Race was an event prepared for young people at the age of 14-16 years. Its track was identical with that of the classic marathon. One of the new projects which took place within the framework of the Family Race was the so-called ECODAY. The participants in this race, while running, threw away recyclable waste materials (paper, glass, plastics, etc.) into containers prepared along the track. Another novelty was the IN-LINE Race which was created as a new sports opportunity for enthusiastic holders of roller skates. The idea behind the Company Race was to demonstrate the abilities of the employees representing the individual firms operating in the Czech Republic. The track of this race was 9 km long and was identical with the EuroTel City Race. The registration of those interested in the races took place for the period of 3 weeks in the Marathon EXPO on Wenceslas Square in Prague. EuroTel's inquiry office and a stand were situated in the same place. All participants received a rucksack with the official PIM T-shirt and at the end of the race gifts from partners. Each PIM participant found in his or her rucksack a coupon, which entitled him or her to a 50% discount per one GO coupon purchased in addition to any GO set in the EuroTel sales outlets in the period from 3 May to 3 June. During the whole "Marathon" day the EuroTel Lost Children Line - 0602/301 300 was placed at the disposal of all parents.
