In cooperation with Nextel, EuroTel has prepared a completely new service for EuroTel GSM Global network customers. Starting June 1, 1997, all EuroTel GSM Global network users will gain mobile access to the Internet free of charge! The customer will pay only for the minutes called for data communication with the Internet equivalent to the respective basic minute rate for connection to the fixed network. Connection to the Internet is made through Nextel using an independent line with a 256 Kb/sec. transmission capacity. What are the main advantages of Mobile Internet service? • registration for the actual Internet access is not necessary • the customer pays no activation fee • the customer pays no monthly fee for Internet use the service includes an e-mail box with a 2MB capacity free of charge (on-line registration on the SPT TELECOM WWW page at iol.telecom.cz:8000 takes place within 10 minutes) You must own the following equipment to gain access to the Internet through EuroTel GSM Global: • GSM telephone with data interface • Activated SIM card with cellular numbers for voice and data • Laptop equipped with PCMCIA Type II slot • Cellular PCMCIA data card • Communications software for Internet connection Current data service users in the EuroTel GSM Global network only need any type of communications software to gain access to the Internet. Mobile Internet point of access: tel.: 0602/900 009 In addition to the Mobile Internet service, each customer automatically gains: • access to WWW pages • access to News discussion groups • access to other Internet services like Telnet, FTP, etc. • remote access to e-mail box (with another Internet provider) The following offer is good for our customers until it's discontinued: The customer will receive 1 CD-ROM with Internet OnLine software from SPT TELECOM free of charge with each cellular PCMCIA data card purchased in the EuroTel sales network and System602! The software also includes free set-up of an e-mail box and 14 days of free access to the Internet from JTS. The Mobile Internet service also includes another very attractive service--SMS gate. This service enables you to send short text messages to GSM mobile phones. The message can be sent either by an e-mail message sent from the Internet or by filling out a special form on the EuroTel WWW page. Sending the messages is completely free of charge in both cases. The maximal length of the short text message is limited to 160 characters. Notice: Due to the nature of the Internet, EuroTel cannot guarantee the faultless delivery of all short text messages sent from the Internet to the given GSM mobile phone.
