The fourth annual women’s doubles tennis tournament took place over the weekend of June 20th and 22nd, 1997. Professional women’s tennis players and well-known personalities have taken part regularly in the tournament. More important than performance are the new friendships started on the courts and the good entertainment for the spectators. This year the spectators saw Blanka Dybová, Markéta Hrubešová, Hana Heřmánková, Světlana Nálepková, Jana Švandová and Helena and Lucie Vondráčková on Prague's Štvanice tennis courts. Of the professional players, Marta Koželuhová, Marcela Skuherská-Davidová, Petra Tesařová-Mečířová, Vlasta Vopičková-Dammová and others accepted the invitation. Martina Navratilova, who paid a visit to our country on her way to this year's Wimbledon, was present at the official draw. At this occasion, Mac Allman presented Martina Navratilova with a check for 200,000 CZK for establishing a tennis school. All winners received a mobile telephone as the prize.
