1997 was an important breaking through point in the area of communication between dealers and the EuroTel Praha company. The Dealer Station System processes an increasing number of requests for activation, and the dealers are now better protected against the risk of providing an activation to a customer who does not, or can not, settle his or her bills. Dealer Station can now also activate the NMT telephones. And, it has a new "relative", although this one is still called "server mutation". There are other new products within sight, there have been rumors about printing of accessories, envelopes about data exports, reports of sales. What's more, since a green line (free of charge line) has been introduced, no longer is any connected station going to communicate at the full expense of the dealer. This concerns also the electronic mail used by more than fifty percent of dealers. On October 31, 1997, there were more than 80 operating stations. We are obviously going to continue with installations in further localities. Within a relatively short period there will be new functions added to the Messages EuroTel application, so that all kinds of information can be distributed through it by the company. Apart from all this, we also plan a transcription of all the data of the "old" clients to these Dealer Stations. To make the whole system as effective as possible, we are going to continue in learning from the experience of those colleagues who work with these stations every day. The whole system is built on two platforms. The user part consists of Lotus Notes with the Dealer Station application, and the accounting and administrative part consists of the BSCS system on ORACLE. These two parts of the system are interconnected in such a way that it enables a fast reception and sending of information to and from the dealer's network. There are no mediators, apart from the technique, between the Dealer Station operator and an aerial. Smaller companies use simple stations which fulfil their needs, and there is an intention to apply the LANDS (server mutation) for operation in sales chains, as it will enable a sufficiently fast processing of the operations of such companies. The application also contains lists of stolen phones. The Dealer Station system processes more than 50 % of new application requests, and we hope, that soon the proportion will get much closer to one hundred.
