If you are already accustomed
to your mobile phone and you use it on a daily basis, you will surely concede that your
life would be complicated in may respects if it were to malfunction.
With the introduction of the GSM system to our market, the number of mobile phones sold
abruptly rose, along with the number of problems with these phones. Whether they are
manufacturing defects or those caused by misuse, the telephone simply cannot be used to
communicate and must be repaired.
Today, customers use mainly brand-name stores. There is always a technician present in the
store who ascertains how serious the break-down is. If the malfunction is simple, a
so-called quick-fix--the glass cover is broken, the antenna is broken, etc--then the
repair can be taken care of immediately. If upon inspection the technician finds a more
serious problem, the telephone must be sent to be repaired with professional service.
Presently, EuroTel Praha offers replacement telephones for the time of repair. If the
damaged telephone is under warranty, the customer pays a deposit of 4000 CZK for the lent
telephone. If the repair is post-warranty, the client pays the deposit + the fee of 500
CZK for using the replacement telephone. This fee is non-refundable.
The damaged telephones are then taken by a pick-up service to the service center which is
authorized by the telephone producer to make repairs and which has access to replacement
parts for the given brand.
With the growth in the number of telephones sold, the demands for more services also grow.
That´s why EuroTel Praha, in cooperation with the authorized service centers, has decided
to build a network of service pick-up locations which can carry out simple repairs and
which will then primarily operate as pick-up centers. In the first phase, 27 companies
were included into this network. For the most part, they came from among the ranks of
EuroTel Praha dealers (a list of which is given below) who in this way further expand
their selection of customer services. These locations will provide you with the same
qualilty care as in name-brand stores. A replacement telephone lending system is also in
place here. The goal for 1998 is to build up a network of 50 to 60 such service locations
which will provide customers with services of the very best quality guaranteed by EuroTel
Praha and which will contribute to our customers´ complete satisfaction. Another effect
will be the gradual shortening of repair periods for individual telephones and the easy
access to these locations for the majority of mobile phone owners throughout the Czech
Republic.
There exists one exception for telephone repairs at present--Philips telephones. EuroTel
Praha is not authorized to make any repairs, even the most simple, to these telephones.
Philips operates its own customer services--First Choice. This service guarantees you that
you can exchange your damaged mobile telephone for another in a short time frame. The
service is accessible on work days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at tel.: 0800 155 055 or
02/57 11 22 22. The service is available only by telephone and no visits in person are
possible. After calling this number, operators will ask you questions and try to ascertain
by phone what the problem is and even to agree on a location to exchange the telephone.
In conclusion we would like to remind you that mobile phones react very sensitively to
water and shock. It is worth the while to take special care to the batteries as well.
Before making the first call, the battery should be charged and discharged several times
(about three times) in order to “warm up to operating temperature.“ When using the
battery, always discharge it either in the telephone or a discharger and then begin the
charging process. If you follow this procedure, you will lengthen the lifetime of your
batteries. Otherwise, the battery´s capacity will gradually be reduced until after a
certain period it will no longer be able to be used.
Despite our effort to continually improve the repair services provided, we hope that you
will not need to seek out these services often and that you will freely and comfortably
call with you problem-free telephones.
