CONTEST
DRAWING FOR GOLDEN NOKIA 3110 MOBILE PHONES
Under the supervision of a notary public, the
contest drawing for gold colored NOKIA 3110 mobile phones took place on April 22, May 6,
and May 20.
The contest was held from April 6 to May 31, 1998. Everyone who activated GO
services in this period or applied for activation (NMT, GSM) at a sales location of the
EuroTel distribution network, was automatically entered into the drawing.
9 winners--new Nokia 3110 mobile phone owners--were drawn and informed by phone by
a EuroTel representative. They then had the chance to pick up the golden mobile phones at
the nearest (to their residence) sales location of the EuroTel distribution network. We
congratulate the following seven winners:
Mrs. Z. Světlíková, Brno; Inset s.r.o., Prague 8; Mr. R. Šíbl, Frýdek-Místek; Mr.
R. Folkert, Brno; Nopo Engineering, Hradec Králové; Svoboda Karel, Brno; Mr. Bližík,
Ústí nad Labem.

Despite all efforts, the remaining two winners could not be
contacted by the deadline for this magazine. We ask all GO telephone owners to check their
voice messages--you could be the next lucky person!
The drawing for the last three winners of golden Nokia´s and the winner of the
main prize--a Ford KA--was only being prepared at the time of the magazine’s deadline
(set for June 11, 1998). The names of the winners will be made public in the next edition
of Magazine EuroTel.
ANYONE WITH A “HOCKEY PUCK“ HAD A CHANCE!
Under the supervision of a notary public, the contest drawing for a trip to the World Cup
in ice hockey in Switzerland took place on April 22 and May 6, 1998.
The contest was held at all sales locations of the EuroTel distribution network
from April 6 to May 1, 1998. Participation was open to all who filled in their personal
information on the hockey-puck-shaped coupon in this period at any sales location and
dropped it in the box located there. Participation in the contest was not conditional on
the purchase of EuroTel products or services.
A total of four lucky people were drawn: Mr. Aleš Pilný, Pardubice; Mr. Jiří
Rýdl, Jablonec nad Nisou; Mr. Pavel Holub, Bílovec; Mr. Roman Svoboda, Ostrava.
They each won a luxury trip for two valued at 148,000 CZK. The trip presented a
week-long stay in Zurich, Switzerland, tickets to all semi-final and final matches of the
hockey world cup, a day trip to the Rhine waterfalls, wandering around town and along the
lake, accommodations in a luxury hotel, and a business class airplane ticket.
Our photographs, which were taken at Ruzyně Airport on Tuesday, May 12, 1998,
capture the moments right before the winners took off to Switzerland. Even Iva
Taťounová, EuroTel press spokesperson, came to wish the winners a pleasant trip and
stay.
We sincerely congratulate all the winners!!
HOW WAS ZURICH?
After a week spent in Zurich, the Swiss city alive with culture and sporting events, we
posed the winners three questions the evening before flying home:
* |
How did you win? |
** |
Did you enter our contest because
you like hockey or do you enter contests often? |
*** |
What did you enjoy the most from
your trip to Zurich? |
Aleš and Vladimíra Pilný from Pardubice
* |
Aleš: “I went to pay invoices.
It always takes a while for the computer to spit everything out. So I roamed around the
store and was bored and suddenly saw some sort of a contest among a pile of promotion
materials. I filled out one puck and that was it. When they called me, my eyes bugged out
and I couldn’t believe it.“ |
** |
Aleš: “We like hockey. Our son
plays and I used to play as well, but the real reason is that I was bored.“
Vladimíra: “Our family has a long tradition in hockey. My father
played way back when and played goalie for our national team at the world cup. So it was a
nice prize in that sense, too.“ |
*** |
Aleš: “Even though we have been
abroad on vacation several times, this was the first time we went on a package tour. We
were pleasantly surprised how everything was put together so perfectly. The dinners
together was super. The whole trip was an experience.“ |
Jirka Rýdl and Magda Svobodová from Jablonec nad Nisou
* |
Jirka: “I was buying a GO PRO
package and the salesman offered that I fill out a puck and to try my luck in the contest.
When they called me from EuroTel, they caught up with me at 8 a.m. somewhere on a business
trip. I couldn’t believe it until we got it in writing by fax.“ |
** |
Jirka: “We are both active in
sports and like hockey. Maybe that’s also why I filled it out.“ |
*** |
Jirka: “I guess the way
everything was so perfectly prepared. There were no big complications with anything.“
Magda: “The greatest experience for me was that it was my first time
at a hockey match. It’s totally different in person than in TV.“
|
Pavel Holub and Sylva Šindlerová from Bílovec
* |
Pavel: “Our construction
company’s boss bought all the employees a mobile phone with which we also got a puck for
the contest for the hockey trip. Then my mom called to tell me that EuroTel was looking
for me and that I should wait by the phone. It was quite a shock for us. It made quick
news in Bílovic, so everyone asked us about it.“ |
** |
Pavel: “I don’t compete much,
but I really like hockey and I like the fact that it was for the World Cup.“ |
*** |
Sylva: “We have never been on a
trip, so the whole thing was an experience. The company was nice and the evenings together
were great.“
Pavel: “It’s also an experience for us since it was basically our
pre-marital honeymoon.“ |
Roman Svoboda from Ostrava
* |
Roman: “I really wanted to go so
I filled out two hundred pucks and sent them all in. When they called, they caught me in
the car. I had to stop on the shoulder and exhale. It’s too bad that my girlfriend
couldn’t go with me, but her mom just happened to be celebrating her 50th birthday. In
the end, her mom’s husband went with me.“ |
** |
Roman: “It seems like I’m
always entering contests.“ |
*** |
Roman: “Our team’s battle for
third place.“ |
Once again, EuroTel congratulates all the winners, and wishes Sylva and Pavel the best for
their life together.
