What is Eudora?

Eudora is an open, standards-based e-mail application that delivers full-function interoperability between Macintoshes and PCs across TCP/IP networks, such as the Internet. It provides complete network or Internet service provider account connectivity without requiring translation gateways and servers.

Eudora Light is the freeware version of the Eudora software and Eudora Pro is the commercial version. Eudora Pro is available from the QUEST business group of QUALCOMM Incorporated. Eudora Light is the freeware version of Eudora.

The current versions of Eudora Light for Macintosh and Windows are also available via ftp and e-mail (list server). To obtain the freeware via ftp, login to ftp.qualcomm.com as anonymous and retrieve the application file from the /quest/mac/eudora/1.5 or /quest/windows/eudora/1.5 directory.

To obtain the Macintosh freeware via e-mail (370k file), send a message to majordomo@qualcomm.com with the body text as follows:

get freeware Mac/Eudora.hqx

Alternatively, if you want the Power Macintosh version of the freeware (650k file), use the following message:

get freeware Mac/Eudora/fat.hqx

To obtain the Windows freeware via e-mail (428K file), send a message to majordomo@qualcomm.com with the body text as follows:

get freeware Win/Eudora.hqx

Alternatively, if you want the Windows file delivered in uuencode format rather than BinHex (434K file), use the following message:

get freeware Win/Eudora.uu

The application files will be delivered to you as message attachments. Be aware that, due to the file sizes, the transfer may take some time on slower connections.
