   The STUMEDIA list is intended to be a forum for the discussion of all
   issues of interest to student journalists.  Students involved in
   journalism in newspaper, yearbook, television, radio and other forms
   of media are encouraged to join.

   The primary goals of the list are simple:

      - To give college students a list of their own to discuss issues
      - in student journalism and a way to get their feet wet on the net.

      - The list will also be concerned with the formation of an
      - Internet-based "wire" service for university publications.

   Although STUMEDIA is designed for students and topics should be
   generally restricted to student journalism, anyone associated with
   student journalism at a college or university is welcome.

   Subscription is by owner.  To join the STUMEDIA list, send e-mail to
   LISTSERV at UABDPO.DPO.UAB.EDU or on BITNET to LISTSERV at UABDPO
   containing the following line:

      SUBSCRIBE STUMEDIA firstname lastname

   This will forward your request to the list-owner, and he will add you
   to the list as soon as possible.
