Subject: Gopher-announce: a new, moderated, low-volume mailing list

Hi everyone,

In response to numerous requests, we've started a new mailing list:
"gopher-announce"  as a companion to the old "gopher-news" list.

Gopher-anounce is a mailing list only for announcements
of new or updated gopher software or services.

This is intended to be a low-volume, moderated mailing list... and as
such should contain no patches, questions or tech-talk. There will be
no overlap between the gopher-announce list and the gopher-news list
(which means that if you subscribe to both, you shouldn't get the same
stuff twice).

If you are currently a subscriber to gopher-news, then you're a charter
member of gopher-announce also.  From this time forth, the two lists
will evolve entirely separately.


If you would like to announce some new gopher software or service,
and send your announcement to

        gopher-announce at boombox.micro.umn.edu

Remember that this list is moderated and items not of a gopher nature or
not of general interest may be returned unposted.

NOTE: Neither the gopher-news nor the gopher-announce lists are listservs.

To unsubscribe from gopher-announce, send email to

       gopher-announce-request at boombox.micro.umn.edu

containing the word "unsubscribe" somewhere in the message.
Unsubscribe requests are processed in a group about once a day;
so be patient
